DRAW MORE CARDS

When I give someone special a card, I make sure it's handmade. Sometimes I feel like grabbing a pen and scribbling whatever comes out while thinking of them. It's the best way of saying in my own way 'hey, you're rad, thank you for being my friend'. I recently made 3 hand-drawn cards and here's what happened.

ART SCHOOL

So I've finally made it to Glasgow and started my Masters in Printed Textiles at The Glasgow School of Art this week. I can't wait to show you what I'm working on in my new studio as the year goes on!

OUTFIT: LIGHTNING CATS

My mum recently gave me this vintage top she bought from Country Road in the 80's. It seems to have become my favorite shirt at the moment!

I've named the print 'lightning cats'. Such a bright power print!

Today I teamed it with a pair of gold stripe panel leggings I once made for a shoot, my human 'teeth' brooch (I sold graphic jewellery a few years back) and my favorite appliqué triangle tote I found in Melbourne.

CURIOUS PATTERNS

Another treat on my trip to Iceland were the spots that inspired me with their colours, patterns and textures.

Apart from finding beauty in a pile of tangled nautical ropes by the old docks, one day I ventured out into the natural landscapes to find moss covered mountains, mineral-rich waters in surreal blues and swirling patterns in the volcanic rocks.

REYKJAVIK

Stop two on my way to Glasgow I was lucky enough to stop off at Reykjavik, Iceland.

The city itself was full of life, beautiful streets and the most incredible fashion!

As a place where crazy patterned tights are a wardrobe staple, I think I might just have to come back one day...

1. downtown shopping          2. cute wall at cafe Babalú             3. pretty ladies at the flea market

4. colourful houses     5. street wandering up to the Hallgrímskirkja church   6. street art at 'Heart Park'

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

On my way to Glasgow earlier this month I stopped off at New York where I met my bud, Lauren.
We caught up for many laughs and burger eating, packing in as much as possible in only a couple of days. Here are some holiday highlights!

1. Cooling down in Central Park          2. You go girl!           3. Eating too many sno-cones

4. Techni-colour street flowers           5. Manhattan!          6. Visiting Beacon's Closet in Brooklyn
